Bobbie Ashley Sanchez

Violin/Viola Coach

Bobbie Ashley Sanchez is an accomplished violinist and private instructor on both the violin and viola. Her private studio, Ashley Music Studio, has taught students from beginner to adul for 12 years. She has played violin for twenty-two years and studies with Misha Lefkowitz of the Los Angeles Philarmonic, Professor Sergio Emilia, Sr. , of the University of Santo Tomas, Conservatory of Music in Metro Manila, Philippines,  and Dr. Ernest Salem, Professor of Music at the California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Sanchez performs with the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra and the Corona Symphony Orchestra in addition to her teaching schedule. 

Having received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at California State University Fullerton, she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education at Azusa Pacific University.

 

Nathan Atwater

Cello/Bass Coach

 

Nathan Atwater, double and electric bassist, enjoys a wide variety of performance settings A recipient of scholarships for both classical and jazz studies, Nathan earned a Bachelor's degree, Magna Cum Laude, from CSUF. His teachers include Luther Hughes, Fred Tinsley and Brian Johnson. While active as a performer, Nathan is also enthusiastic about teaching. His students have been selected to perform with PSYO and All Southern Honor Orchestra.

 

Vince Terusa

Percusion Caption Head

 

After graduating from Mission Viejo High School where he was a member of the Marching Band and Drum Line, Vince Terusa started his career as a percussion educator. Over the past fifteen years he has taught numerous, local Southern California ensembles including Mission Viejo High School, Aliso Niguel High Schoook, Woodbridge High School, Valencia High School, El Toro High School as well as many others. Under his direction these schools have won numerous awards including "High Percussion" in the WBA and SCSBOA Marching Band Circuits, as well as countless medals in the SCPA and ADLA drumline circuits. He is also a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.

Vince recently graduated from Orange Coast College where he received his associates degree in the Culinary Arts. He currently works as a Chef at a popular Laguna Beach restaurant. He has always prided himself in the musical education of his students as well as providing a positive influence in their lives.

 

Brett Erskin

Pit Instructor

Brett Erskin has been active teaching in the Southern California percussion community since 2004. Among the schools that Brett has had the honor to work with are Ayala High School, Rancho Cucamonga High School, Canyon Hills High School, and temescal Canyon High School. Currently, Brett is a full time Music Teacher in the Garden Grove Unified School District where he teaches Band and Orchestra.

Brett holds a Bachelors of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachussetts and has just earned his Masters in Arts of Teaching from the University of California, Irvine.

 

Hayden Burkett

Visual and Brass Tech

 

Graduating in 2012, Hayden is an alumnus of El Toro High School and has been on staff for Marching Band since the summer of 2013. 

He is currently seeking a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. His primary instrument is bass trombone and secondary instrument is euphonium.

Hayden aged out after spending four years with the 17-time Drum Corps International world champion Concord Blue Devils, performing many shows across the United States. He enjoys working as a visual instructor for the Royal Blue Regiment and look forward to the years to come.

 

Alexis Winchell

Visual, Brass & Bass Drum Tech

 

Alexis Winchell is approaching her fourth year of instructing percussion and brass for El Toro High School. She graduated from Laguna Hills High School in 2011. Alexis participated in Laguna Hills High School Marching Band and Winter Drum Line for four years. In addition, she also has four years of Drum Corps experience. Currently she is attending California State University, Fullerton for music education.
